What we collect and why

We ask only for what a service needs. CareerCraft does not extract or store your identity number.
Legal basis
- Contract. Most information is processed because it is necessary to deliver a service you bought.
- Legal obligation. Some records must be kept for tax and company law purposes.
- Consent. Marketing email is sent only where you opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest. Basic analytics and fraud prevention.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers who help deliver the service, under contract, and only as far as needed:

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Information sent outside South Africa
Some providers above process data outside South Africa, mainly in the European Union and United States. Where this happens we rely on section 72 of POPIA: the provider is bound by contractual terms giving your information protection substantially similar to POPIA. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
How long we keep it
- Order and delivery records: five years, as required for tax purposes.
- Documents generated for you: available while your relationship with us is active.
- CareerCraft CV records: 30 days if unpurchased, 365 days if purchased, then deleted automatically.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights under POPIA
You may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, misleading or no longer needed
- Object to processing, and unsubscribe from marketing at any time
- Complain to us first, and to the Information Regulator if we do not resolve it

The site runs over HTTPS, access to client data is restricted, and payment data never reaches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, and will notify you and the Regulator if a breach affects you.
